Wait of Indian Samsung Galaxy I9000 (GT-I9000HKAINU) owners for long awaited Android 2.2 update is finally over as Samsung Kies is now allowing the update, users with Firmware version "I9000DDJG4/I90000DDJG4 I9000DDJG4/I9000DDJG4" can now officially update toAndroid 2.2 Froyo upgrading there firmware to version "I9000DDJP6/I90000DDJP5/I9000DDJP2/I9000DDJP6".

Ultrasn0w Carrier Unlock Updated To Work With Baseband Later Than 05.13.04

The most widely used iOS software unlock Ultrasn0w just got updated by parent iPhone Dev Team to support carrier-unlocking on any baseband later than 05.13.04 for iPhone3G/3GS owners. This unlock is interestingly using the exploited AT+XAPP command security-hole which was actually plugged-in by Applebut it turned out that the very first iPad firmware 3.2.2 has baseband version 06.15.00 which is still vulnerable to AT+XAPP exploit and since the iPad baseband is built for the exact same baseband-chip as theiPhone3G/3GS what we have is an exploit with a carrier unlock for these devices. In simpler terms iPhone 3G/3Gs owners can unlock their devices running iOS 4.1/4.2 but there are some risks as posted next.

Opera 11 Beta Download Now Available Introducing Tab Stacking

After introducing browser extension in Opera 11 Alpha the new Opera 11 Beta build is out now adding another major functionality labelled "Tab Stacking". The new functionality is basically a tab-grouping feature allowing users to stack their tabs, grouping them by site or by theme reducing clutter making it easier to identify and work with sets of open tabs.

Other new features and improvements in Opera 11 Beta :

Mouse gestures - In Opera 11, a new visual interface highlights mouse paths and helps guide the discovery, use and mastery of these powerful shortcuts.

Fixing Samsung Galaxy I9000 Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues

Google Android powered Samsung Galaxy I 9000 cellphone is receiving some great reviews and sales, but every phone has their own issues and Samsung Galaxy I 9000 has quite some too. One of the most annoying issue with this cellphone is connectivity with Wi-Fi networks, strangely the phone refuses to use Wi-Fi with full-signal strength most of the times as shown below.

After, trying and failing every single solution shared on android forums I tried using manual settings for Wi-Fi and it worked, a detailed how-to follows after the jump.

To get Wi-Fi fixed on your Samsung Galaxy I 9000 follow the instructions detailed below :

Make sure Wi-Fi is ON and Navigate to Settings -> Wireless and Network -> Wi-Fi Settings, now click the left-side context-menu button on your phone to bring-up Advanced option and click it.

Now to get things working we will need to make cellphone use a static IP address for Wi-Fi, check theUse Static IP option and proceed with entering values manually.

If you are not sure what values to use take a look at your network-adapter status on computer, here are my settings (should works on most default router setups).

Enter all values and your screen should now look like the one below.

Now go back to your Wi-Fi settings page and click your access-point name and it should show you the manually entered IP value.

Your Wi-Fi issues should be now over.
